Keith Andrews life to management was less than ideal, after his side was beaten 3-1 away to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in their opening game of the season.

Chris Wood continued his incredible scoring record within the opening five minutes. The ball swung in from a corner, with his header getting trapped off Kayode before dropping down for the Kiwi striker who punted the ball home to open his account.

Ndoye headed the ball home after Gibbs-White fantastic footwork allows him the space to play the cross into the box which was brilliantly headed home in the 42’.

As if to prove he wasn’t a one season wonder, Chris Wood found the net yet again in the opening half to make it 3-0 after an amazing interception and pass from Anderson slipped in Chris Wood in the 45+3’.

Sels had his blushes spared early after he flustered his clearance and played the ball straight to a Brentford player, who was unable to convert the chance in the 2’, how differently things could have gone if they scored.

Kayode sprinted back to keep Ndoye from scoring who had broken free and was through on goal before the defender closed his options and then won back the ball.

Controversy struck after Milambo blocked a set piece with his arm, but VAR ruled the incident accidental and awarded a corner rather than a penalty, a decision which feels fair or soft depending on who you support.

Igor Thiago squander a great chance at 1-0 after Jensen squared the ball to him in the penalty area, who Forest defenders flung themselves in the way and deflected the shot over the bar for a corner. Thiago then committed a foul at the corner.

Gibbs-White went for the spectacular on the stroke of an hour, with the ball behind him he looked to flick it into the top right corner, in a semi-bicycle kick fashion, missing just narrowly.

Brentford’s fortunes changed in the second half, showing more defensive security and starting to threaten to opposition. Brentford were awarded with a penalty after a handball from Sangaré, Thiago placed it straight down the middle and scored to give the new Brentford manager some hope.
